One of Turin's most important main roads is Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, which crosses the city from east to west, from the river Po at the foot of the Torinese hills to the new Palace of Justice just before it meets Corso Francia.

Corso Vittorio is also the location of many of the stations which are currently being built to form the city's new underground system, which will be inaugurated in time for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games. One of these stations will be right opposite the hotel.

The Hotel Conte Biancamano is in fact situated in one of the city centre's most strategic positions on the corner of Corso Vittorio Emanuele (on which, just 200 metres away, stands Porta Nuova Railway Station, right opposite the beginning of Via Roma) and Corso Re Umberto (which leads to Piazza Solferino, 400 metres away, where the Atrium has been recently inaugurated).

From Piazza Solferino and Via Roma, one can reach the historical centre of the city: Piazza Castello, surrounded by beautiful architecture such as the Royal Palace, Palazzo Madama, the Royal Theatre and the Cathedral ("Duomo") and Chapel designed by the architect Guarini, the home of the world famous Holy Shroud.

Moreover, you can enjoy the prestigious architecture and elegance of Turin's main streets and squares and experience some of the city's most important monuments, museums, traditional cafés, theatres, cinemas, shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as exploring its cultural, administrative and financial centres: the heart of city that was once the capital of a kingdom.
